Getting Started Guide
Logging In
- Upon first login, use the default credentials provided by your system administrator.
- You will be prompted to change your password immediately after logging in for the first time.
Setting a New Global Admin Password
- You will be navigated to the Update Password page to set a new global admin password.
- Ensure the new password meets the required security criteria.
Note: The Global Admin account has elevated privileges and should be treated with caution. It is primarily intended for initial setup and emergency use. We do not recommend using it for daily operations—consider creating and using role-based administrator accounts for regular tasks to enhance security and accountability.
Change Appliance Hostname
Step 1: Open the Appliance Settings
- Click on the Settings Gear icon in the navigation bar.
- Select Appliance from the available tabs.
Step 2: Enter a New Hostname
- Locate the Set Hostname (Reboot Required) section.
- In the New Hostname field, enter the desired hostname.
- The hostname must:
- Be between 1 and 253 characters.
- Have at least two labels (e.g.,
mantle.local
). - Contain only alphanumeric characters and hyphens (
-
).
Step 3: Apply and Reboot
- Click Set Hostname & Reboot to apply the changes.
- The system will automatically restart to apply the new hostname.
Note: MANTLE Nodes will use this hostname to connect to the Enterprise Appliance. Ensure that the hostname is resolvable within your network to avoid connectivity issues.
Step 4: Verify Changes
- Once the system has restarted, navigate back to Appliance Settings.
- Confirm that the Current Appliance Hostname displays the updated hostname.
Note: Changing the hostname may affect network-related configurations and connectivity. Ensure that the new hostname aligns with your network policies.
Adding a License
- Start by requesting a license from NTS
- Click the Settings Icon in the bottom right of the sidebar.
- Click Licenses in the upper nav bar.

Click on the Green Plus Icon.

Upload the license that was sent to you by NTS.

After uploading, you should see a license in the table.
Creating a Group
- Navigate to the Groups tab in the sidebar.

Click on the Green Plus Icon and fill in the required information:
- Group name
Creating Users
- Navigate to the Users tab in the sidebar.

Click on the Green Plus Icon and provide the following details:
- Username
- Email address
- Role
Uploading Assets
- Navigate to the Assets tab in the sidebar.

Click on the Green Plus Icon and choose the type(s) of asset(s) to upload from the upper tabs:
- File-based assets
- Script-based assets

Navigate to the Upload Assets tab and assign an asset type for each asset.

Some assets will have a Subtype.

Some assets are specific to Mantle, and some are specific to Mantle Mobile.

Click the Upload All button.

Watch for the notifications in the top right for any issues.

If you try to upload an asset that already exists, you’ll be presented with this warning.
Adding Users to Groups
- Navigate to the Groups tab in the sidebar.
- Navigate to the Users tab in the upper tabs.

Click on the White Edit Icon and provide the following details:
- Operation
- User
- Group Role
